Time: February 2006 to February 2006 - about 1 week
This is the Tweed Beret from the Winter 2006 issue of Interweave Knits by Kristen Tendyke. This was knitted with the very last of the Tahki Donegal Tweed that I had left over from my other projects. This beret knitted up super fast so I think the project was smashing!
This is adapted from my cable and rib hat pattern. Instead of rib, I just knitted more cables in the in-between rows. I knitted this using Tahki Donegal Tweed #880 on US #9 needles. I knitted this so that Mykaela could have a hat that matched her brother's and her dad's.
This is a simple cable and rib hat I made so that Jake could match his dad. I knitted this with Tahki Donegal Tweed #880 on US #9 needles. I did more frequent repeats on the cables but I knited it on smaller needles so that they could tell their hats apart.
This is a hat for a neighbor who was admiring Matt's cable and rib hat and wanted one for himself. This was knitting using Tahki Donegal Tweed color #880 on US#10 circular needles.
This was knitted for Matt because he wanted a warm Star Wars hat. I knitted this using Cascade 220 on US #7 and US #9 needles. The pattern was from Elizabeth Zimmermann's Knitting Around and the charts I found on the internet. Matt especially liked that it is reversible.
This is the baby baseball tee by Mel Clark and Tracey Ullman from their book Knit2Together. It was knitted using Katia Mississippit in a light blue and dark blue color on US#3 and US #5 needles. It was knitted for our next door neighbor's 1st baby. This was the one of the fastest and definitely tiniest sweaters I've ever knitted!
This is the Greek Pullover by Sharon Shoji from the Fall 2005 Interweave Knits. I knitted this using the very luscious Manos del Uruguay color #17 on US #9 and US#10 needles. It doesn't fit too well so I'm going to have to try and reblock it to see if it fits any better and maybe also shorten the sleeves. I really would like to wear it sometime!
This is the Unisex Knock-around reversible pullover from Weekend Knitting by Melanie Falick. I knitted this with Beaverslide Fisherman weight mulespun 100% wool in Heathered Grey using US#11 needles. This never fit well and hasn't been worn so it's being gifted to the Dulaan Project.
Central Park Hoodie by Heather Lodinsky from Fall 2006 Knitscene. Knitted with Tahki Donegal Tweed color 848 using US size 6 and US size 8 needles. This is the 3rd CPH that I've knitted. My sister Tracey tried on my sister Brandi's CPH and decided that she wanted one for herself in the same color as Brandi's. So I had to knit the same pattern again. It is a size smaller and has 1 more toggle button on it than Brandi's so it is at least a little bit different.
These are the Best Foot Forward socks from Knit Socks! by Betsy Lee McCarthy. I knitted these with my much loved Koigu KPPPM on my not so much loved aluminum US#2 DPNs. These are my 3rd and final pair of socks for Socktoberfest 2006. Fun month of knitting socks!
This is Widdershins by Brooke Chenoweth Creel from the Summer 2006 issue of Knitty.com. Knitted this with Koigu KPPPM using US#3 DPNs. These are my first pair of toe up socks and I really liked how cool the cast on is and that you can stop knitting the leg whenever you like it. I did a sewn bind off found in Elizabeth Zimmermann's Knitting Without Tears. Fantastically stretchy bind off!
Classy Slip Up Socks from Knit Socks! by Betsy Lee McCarty. Knitted with US #3 DPNs using Koigu KPPPM. Love this yarn and this pattern! It makes the yarn so thick and soft.
Central Park Hoodie by Heather Lodinsky from Fall 2006 Knitscene. Knitted with Tahki Donegal Tweed color 848 using US size 6 and US size 8 needles. This is the 2nd CPH that I've knitted. It was suppose to the be the 1st since my sister requested this for herself but I didn't have the yarn yet so I just had to make mine first!
Central Park Hoodie by Heather Lodinsky from Fall 2006 Knitscene. Knitted with Tahki Donegal Tweed color 880 using US size 6 and US size 8 needles. This was the first thing I've made for myself and I'm loving it! I was suppose to be knitting a CPH for my sister and for a CPH knitalong but it was taking forever to get her yarn in the mail so I decided to buy some yarn at my LYS and knit one for myself. I loved this pattern and don't mind making a 2nd for my sister.
Nancy Bush's Knit Vintage Socks Lichen Ribbed Socks knitted using Austermann Step 75% superwash wool/25% nylon yarn with aloe vera and jojoba oil on US#2 DPN. I changed the pattern slightly by casting on 72 sts instead of 60 sts and figured out the math as I went. My first socks and I can't wait to make more!
Christmas stockings knitted with Cascade 220 in White, Gold, Maroon and Dark Green using US #8 16" circular needles. I used a pattern for the stocking found in Knit Christmas Stockings! and found the different stars /snowflakes in that boook, 1000 Great Knitting Motifs and Knitting Over The Edge. I just adjusted the charts in Excel so that they would fit a 72 stitch pattern repeat.

Joelle Hoverson's Last Minute Knitted Gifts Child Placket Neck Sweater. I knitted this with Cascade 220 Superwash in Dark Navy using US #8 circulars and DPN. I started this at the end of July 2006 and finished it and the smaller version in a couple of weeks. I had tried the sweater on my kids as I went and found that the pattern would actually be too short so I had to lengthen the arms and body. of both sweaters.

Debbie Bliss' Special Knits Bow-Tied Bolero. Knitted using Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in Pale Pink using US #2 and US #3 circular needles. I started this at the beginning of June 2006 but didn't finish it until the end of July because I really don't like to seam it up and put it together. Not to mention the fact that I had made the sweater sleeves too big and the body too small so I'm not too happy with the way the seaming went.
Debbie Bliss' Baby Knits Pattern Dress With Eyelets. I knitted this with Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in Cream using US #2 and US #3 circular needles. I started it in May but didn't finish it until July because I never felt like sitting down to seam up the sides and put the ribbon on.
Debbie Bliss' baby jacket with steed stitch bands from her Baby Knits Patterns book. Knitted using US#2 and US #3 needles and Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino yarn in light pink. Started it in March 2006 and finished in May 2006 at the same time as completing a matching sweater for her baby sister.

This raglan was a project that I learned to do from a knitting class. I started it in January at the start of the class but didn't finish it until May 2006 because it was just miles and miles of stockinette in the round. I used RY Cashsoft Aran in Kate using US #8 circular needles. It was cool to learn how to do a topdown raglan in the round that was suppose to fit me but ended up too large so my husband took it and declared it was so soft and comfortable. and has now claimed it as his sweater.
Pattern: A friend's
Yarn: Rowan Yorkshire Tweed Chunky
Needles: US #10 1/2
Time: March 29, 2007 to March 29, 2007
I knitted this using the rest of the yarn from Gabes's hat. It was Classic Elite Duchess yarn in a dark taupe color using 2 US #10 1/2 needles in April 2006. I casted on less stitches and knitted less rows to make this hat small enough for a baby.
I knitted this hat using Classic Elite Duchess yarn ina dark taupe color using 2 US #10 1/2 circular needles in April 2006. I had to use 2 balls of yarn instead of one because I had to make the hat bigger than usual.
I knitted this hat with Classic Elite Duchess Yarn in beige using 2 US #10 circular needles in April 2006. Once again I love using this yarn.
I knitted this hat using Classic Elite Duchess Yarn in light pink with 2 US#10 circular needles in April 2006. I love using this yarn.
My daughter's gym coach saw me knitting all these hats during her gym practice and asked if I'd make her one. I knitted this black one for her with Tahki Yarns Bunny using 2 US #9 circular needles in March 2006.
I knitted this hat using Loft Zitron in greens, blues and grays using 2 US#9 circular needles in March 2006. I like the way the yarn stripe slanted around the hat.
I knitted this hat using Tahki Yarns Bunny in reds and pinks using 2 US#9 circular needles in March 2006. I thought this yarn was so soft and easy to knit with.
This hat was knitted using Filatura Dicrosa baby for Tahki and Zarella yarn in variegated pinks using 2 US #10 circular needles. I used 2 yarns at once to create this effect. It was the first time I had knitted using a double strand and it was hard to do. I kept making mistakes and did less rows than the pattern suggests so that it would fit a child's head. I knitted this in March 2006.
This hat was knitted with ZarOne yarn in white using 2 US #10 circular needles in March 2006. I really liked this yarn but the color didn't photograph very white like it was.
Knitted with Cascade 128 yarn in brown colors using 2 US#10 circular needles. Knitted this with more stitches casted on and more rows in order to fit a very large head. Finished in in March 2006.
Another hat knitted with Tesco Dive Yarn in variegated blues using 2 US#10 cirucular needles. Have I mentioned how much I love this pattern, yarn, color? Finished in March 2006.
My friend saw me knitting a hat and asked if I'd make one for her. Knitted this with Classic Elite Yarns Duchess in white (picuture makes it look darker) using 2 US #10 circular needles. I loved this yarn - it was so soft and easy to knit with. I knitted this in March 2006.
The fourth time I've knitted this hat and I no longer need to look at a pattern. Knitted with Casscade Yarns Highland wool in Grayish Black color using US #10 needles. I knitted this in March 2006.
This is the third time I've knitted this hat because it is so easy and fun to do. I used RY Cashsoft Aran in Kate using 2 US #3 circular needles. Finished in 2 weeks in March 2006.
Debbie Bliss Baby Knits Patterns Baby Jacket With Seed Stitch Bands. Knitted with Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in Cream using US #2 and US #3 needles. I started this in February and didn't finish it until a month later. I knitted up the sweater pieces pretty quickly but kept putting off the finishing. I t took me awhile to figure out how to pick up stitches around the neck to keep the seed stitch pattern. Picking up stitches is not my favorite thing to do.
Debbie Bliss Junior Knits Woody Pullover Sweater. Knitted using Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in Hunter Green using US #7 and US #8 needles. I started this in January 2006 and finished it in February 2006. This was the third time I knitted this sweater. I made the front and back a little longer than pattern called for and I had a lot of trouble picking up the stitches around the neckline again! I had vowed not to do this pattern again because I so disliked doing the neckline. This will definitely be the last time I knit this sweater.
This cable and rib hat pattern came from a class I took on how to make hats on 2 circular needles . I Knitted with Tesco Dive yarn in variegated beiges. I knitted this in February 2006 - only about 6-8 hours worth of knitting. This was the second time I knitted this hat because I love the project so much and wanted to do this again using the same soft yarn in a different coulourway.
This cable and rib hat pattern came from a class s I took on how to make hats on 2 circular needles . I started this in January 2006 and finished it in February 2006 because I had to wait for the next class. It really was only about 6-8 hours s of knitting. I used Tesco Dive yarn in variegated autumn colors on 2 US#10 curcular needles. I loved this project! I love the colors and how they stripe, how soft the yarn was and I especially loved how fast it knitted up without any seaming too!
Debbie Bliss' Special Knits Hooded Sweater. Knitted using RY Cashsoft Aran in Navy on US #8 needles. I made the hood bigger than the pattern suggested. I started this in January 2006 and finished it in about 1 week. I made the hood bigger than pattern suggested since it looked too small and had also wanted the hood bigger so it would be easy for the parents to put on. The yarn was so nice to knit with.
