Do you know what it feels like to be knitting the same thing over and over and over? I do - my 3rd Central Park Hoodie from Fall 2006 Knitscene is done!
The first one was a maroon color Tahki Donegal Tweed for me, the second one was an oatmeal color Tahki Donegal Tweed for my sister Brandi and this one is the same oatmeal color Tahki Donegal Tweed yarn for my sister Tracey:
Tracey had tried on Brandi's and then declared that I had to knit her one too. Sibling rivalry and the guilt of making something for one sister and not the other did me in so I knitted a 3rd CPH.
I did love the pattern and the yarn, but by the third time, everything got really boring and my right index finger hurt a lot from all the tweed traveling over it. So much so that I had to switch and knit continental but I'm not as proficient that way so things would slow way down when I had to rest my right fingers from the yarn. At least the third one was the smallest and I had the pattern down so I felt that it went pretty fast considering. I was hoping to find different toggle buttons to make the sweater at least be a little bit different, but I couldn't find any other toggle buttons that I liked so I had to settle for putting 6 buttons on instead of 5. At least this way, my sisters can tell their sweaters apart a little easier than just holding them up to one another. I am claiming credit on the CPH KAL, Tweeding Along KAL, Fall Cable KAL and now the NaKniSweMo too. That's one sweater down for the month of November!
I did have a lot of time to knit these past few days because of all the rain in the Pacific Northwest. There was so much rain that school got canceled! That's a first! I've heard of school closures for snow, power outages, and even had a school closure for volcano eruption - I was living in Longview, Washington when Mt. St. Helens erupted on my cousin's birthday. We were all outside playing and saw the big mushroom cloud go up in the sky. School had been closed on and off because of all the ash the mountain was spewing. Anyways, my kids had a couple of days off of school because all the roads around their schools were unpassable and/or flooded out. Tuesday, I took them to see the hilarious movie "Flushed Away" and Wednesday, the sun came out so they got a day off of school to play! So they're back in school today and then get tomorrow off for Veteran's Day. What a week.

Wow, that is impressive. I can't imagine even knitting just the hood and neckband three times.

and you don't think you'll get to 50,000 stitches! congrats on the finish for your third cph..I'm guessing maybe this'll be your last for a while! I can't believe the school closures! Oh, I want to see "Flushed Away" myself! p.s. thanks for the awesome comments too. :)

I would go crazy knitting the same sweater 3 times! But it is beautiful and your sisters are very lucky. I can't believe you knit it all that fast too. Wow.

Oh my gosh! Three of one sweater?! That's insanity and love in one big package. I didn't see the last two, but this one sure is beautiful and the cables are stunning! Well done. Now you can and should do something different!
....Looking forward to reading your blog more often

WOW!! You must think a lot of your sisters ;)
Beautiful CPH will there be any more? No just kidding.

You must have memorised the CPH pattern by now - anyway, the 3rd one looks just as great & your 2 sisters (or are there more?) to have you!

You've been knitting the CPH in your sleep. :-) Your knitting speed is impressive, especially considering you've been knitting one year.
Can you believe this rain? Wind is slashing around the torrential rains again today. Hope you're high and dry where you live.

I think you'd better swear the sisters that have the CPH to secrecy...from telling the others. And I hope you are safely ensconced in a new pattern -- for you!! I'm on sleeves...I hope to finish mine at the end of Nov. but I don't know yet if that's realistic or not. :)

Tell me, are you beginning to feel like a production knitter? ;-) You must knit so fast, and you are so generous to be knitting all those sweaters for your sisters.
PS, re: my blog/Mom, yes, thanks, I'm holding up so far. The knitting and blogging helps, as does the love of a good cat or five. :-)

You knit so fast !! Where do you buy extra time !!?? :) :) I understand that fingers hurt, however - this is very, very beautiful hoody... all honor to you :)

Your knitting is gorgeous--the stitches are so perfectly even! Just too beautiful for words! And hasn't this rain been terrible!! My kids didn't miss school, but boy have they been screwy because they can't get out and play at recess. Keep up the beautiful knitting!

Very beautiful - I give you a lot of credit for knitting the same thing three times - sometimes I struggle just making the second sock!

That sweater is gorgeous, I love the color, the pattern and the little touches like the cute toggles. BTW, you are a pro at finishing, it looks amazing all together!
