jaywalking permitted here
Sometimes a break is needed from endless stockinette like that of the Huntington Castle Pullover. Do you find yourself, late in the night, digging through your patterns and stash and needles looking for an easy project like I do? I admit it. I also wanted to unofficially knit from stash so I casted on and finished the Jaywalkers by the fabulous Grumperina:
These are being modeled by my 9yo playing around on her balance beam in our living room:
A bit baggy on her but fits my feet perfectly. She loves being my sock model:
This is such a great and easy pattern and so very comfortable. I went up a needle size to US #3 to give it a bit of slouch for wearing around the house and in bed. And the best part was? I used the leftover skeins of Koigu I had from when I made my Widdershins. I'm slowly going to try to use my stash but it's oh so hard when there's this:
It's the Petals Collection from Sundara Yarn that I received last month but wanted her permission before I posted pictures of it. Isn't the packaging beautiful? I didn't want to open it but of course I did:
This is her lenten rose colorway - absolutely beautiful yarn! And look what was in the maroon envelope:
A Sundara Yarn original sock pattern. She even included the ribbon for the back of the socks which was simply gorgeous! It'll be perfect for next month's start for Project Spectrum. I'm getting excited to be knitting more socks and am excited for more of my Petals Collection. How can you not after seeing her beautiful yarn?

Fabulous socks! The colors are very cool! Tell the model she should go professional! :-)

Those are shiny, happy Jaywalkers! And your new Petals yarn is lovely.
My question is, how do you accomplish so much when you have four children? Really, I need to know.

Those Jaywalkers haunt me. I will make them. (Next, I'm sure.) Also, the color of that yarn is magnificent.
Thank you so much for your freezer paper suggestion and demystification of the needle turning (over on my blog). I'm gonna give it a try thanks to you!

Count me in on another knitter who hasn't made Jaywalkers, but looking at your socks makes me want to get some sock yarn. In fact, I did. Love the petals collection. How fun to get such a wonderful package. Enjoy!

Oh....the petals collection. I love the idea of a flower theme with a special pattern. If only I knit socks...
I dream of Sundara's yarn! Maybe I can do a lace shawl one day out of her laceweight. I will be looking forward to seeing these finished socks for Project Spectrum!

Your socks are great, and the Sundara yarn, amazing. I've committed to knitting from my stash, but the more I see Sundara yarn, the more I know it will be the first thing I buy when I end my stash knitting.
