lace-cuff anklets
My little girls love to climb trees, ride bikes, play ball, play dolls, sing, run, swim, do gymnastics, play dress up and now they love to dance in their pretty lacy ankle socks:
These are Ann Budd's Lace-Cuff Anklets from Favorite Socks. If you belong to the Favorite Socks KAL, you will see these socks posted there also, as well as on Project Spectrum and Summer of Socks 2007:
I knitted these using BMFA Socks That Rock Mediumweight Mustang Sally on US #2, #3 and #4:
Hailey is happy to be modeling her own socks this time and not mine:
She really likes the fit on her feet since mine are usually big on her:
Shelby loves Hailey and is happy to be imitating whatever her big sister is doing:
She was overjoyed to get matching socks:
My girls love to do whatever their brothers are doing but they also love to do their thing too. They were happy to get their own girly socks after seeing their brothers get their zebra socks. In fact, they haven't taken them off since modeling them for me and now are dozing away in their beds with their new socks on! Bliss.

Such a pretty color with pretty cuffs! Love the zebra socks too!

You must be the fastest knitter on earth. Wow.
You have four lucky little kids in their fabulous socks. It certainly is sweet when they wear your handiwork... no better feeling on earth!
My boys just got their sockies and they've been wearing them with sandals in 80 degree weather!

Thanks for showing the potential of these socks. I really didn't like the picture(s) in the book. Now you've given me an idea. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Once again, how cute! I do love those anklet socks. It must be such a joy to see your children appreciating your knitting. Well done!

The photo with the white eyelet and woolly socks juxtaposed is sheer artistry. And so are your socks, of course! Very pretty.

Your little ones are so lucky to have a mom like you! The socks are so beautiful. I think the universe is telling me I need to have a girl baby next!

Four kids and you get all this knitting done--and in the summer too! You amaze me. And those feet are so cute--as are the socks.

Those are soooo pretty!! I love the color you picked and how it looks in this pattern. I have that book and am going to put that pattern in my queue.

These are gorgeous! I love your sons' socks too. (Can you tell me what their shoe sizes are?) I never know how many stitches to cast on for kids socks, but I'd love to make these for my daughter ...

The socks and the way they are photographed are adorable. I like the edging on the cuff too.
Posted by: Sacha | July 30, 2007 at 07:15 AM
You are such a great mom to crank out the socks for the entire family! Way to go. No one in my household except my husband has requested socks from me, and I'm not sure my teenagers would appreciate them appropriately! They look lovely.

I was only looking at your site the other day and you had knitted your boys some fab socks and now your girls have socks too! You are one speedy knitter :-)
The girls socks look very pretty with the lacy cuff detail.

You are The Best Mom, ever. Look at all that wooly love for your girls and boys! I can just imagine how happy the little sister is to have matching socks with big sis. Awww... and such pretty socks, too.

Ok, I knit a lot during the day, probably more than I should considering I have 3 little ones, but I can't come close to your speed or intensity! Great work, once again! And pass some of that speed my way, would ya?!
Posted by: Stacee | July 30, 2007 at 10:53 AM
So cute! I remember wearing lacy cuffed socks when I was a little girl :)
Posted by: Kristy | July 30, 2007 at 11:23 AM
You are killing me here with all "the adorable cute kids with new hand-knit socks" posts. Lovely socks--I am sure the girls will treasure them!
Posted by: Erin | July 30, 2007 at 11:54 AM
They must love them if they have them on their feet in the summer. I like their socks.
Posted by: Mia | July 30, 2007 at 12:03 PM
Danggg! That's... how many pairs—not singles, PAIRS (pair?)—of socks in a week? Have you considered challenging Lily Chin for the title of fastest knitter? I really think you'd win! :-) You make the prettiest socks.

Perfectly lovely lacey socks for little girls. And I love your summer sweater--the lace panel is beautiful.

Your kids are so sweet! The matching socks look great. The Mustang Sally is very pretty, much more so than on the website! And I am quite excited about the sewing machine, now I'll never get any knitting done, LOL!
