What more can I say about this sweater that I already haven't?:
This, once again, is the Cobblestone Pullover by the very amazing Jared Flood of b r o o k l y n t w e e d fame. The pattern can be found in the Fall 2007 issue of Interweave Knits:
This time I used the yarn that the pattern calls for - Classic Elite Skye Tweed in Beige - 10 1/2 skeins for a size 43 1/2" pullover. This yarn was so scratchy to knit with, but a quick wet block took out all the roughness to leave a soft, wearable sweater that I didn't have to adjust for any modifications:
I was all too willing to knit this sweater again for Interweave KAL, Manly Gift-Along KAL and while it's not quite brown, I'm making it count for Project Spectrum:
Have I ever mentioned how much I love knitting in movie theaters? Easy to do, stockinette stitches broken by bits of garter rows makes this a perfect movie theater project and keeps my hands busy so I don't ingest too much of that delicious, but oh-so-bad-for-you, movie popcorn. It also knits up pretty quickly on US #8 needles:
Another plus? The first Cobblestone Pullover, in Cascade 220, costed only $45.20 to knit. I ordered the yarn for this pullover from WEBS, during their sale, so this sweater only costed $38.50 to knit! Not too shabby, eh?:
I just love this project and I just love this model, my hubby, Matt, who's always happy and thankful to receive woolen goodness from me:
Once again, thanks Jared for such a fantastic sweater to knit! I may just have to knit this sweater again for my little guys (but sometime in the distant future - the way distant future!)

Nuh, uh... I can't believe you already put this together! You are amazing. So is this sweater! So is Jarod Flood. Three cheers all around! Woot! Woot!

Very nice - love the color! I'm so glad to hear that the yarn softens up after washing - its so scratchy to knit with!
Posted by: Jeanne | September 04, 2007 at 02:05 AM
It is beautiful. The sweater, the pictures and your guy.
Posted by: KSee | September 04, 2007 at 03:12 AM
Another wonderful job!!! I have some of that color too, I might have to use that instead of what I was originally going with.
Posted by: Erica | September 04, 2007 at 03:28 AM
It's just beautiful, I think I like this shade better. Really very nice!

Once again, a gorgeous FO. Matt is one lucky guy! Perhaps, one day, we'll see a picture of all your guys wearing their own matching sweaters.

Oh my goodness! I knew you were working on the second one, but you are cranking these out like nobody's business!! Are you sure you don't have a knitting machine over there? LOL
Lovely! Just lovely! Great work always Tiennie!

Cobblestone looks so good on your very handsome model! I love tweed sweaters on men (and on women too)

Very nice job!!! That sweater is awesome. You are amazingly fast! I can't believe how many FOs you will have by the end of the year!

OMGoodness, another one...already? You are GOOD. The sweater is as gorgeous as the last one. You must feel like a Cobblestone pro by now :-)

Posted by: Dorre | September 04, 2007 at 05:21 AM
Gorgeous sweater(s)! :D
Posted by: Katinka | September 04, 2007 at 05:38 AM
Wow it's awesome, and the model's not too bad either, have you considered entering him into the yarnival hunk of the month? I begged my husband to let me enter him, but he refused :( The sweater is amazing, I'd love to make one for my hubby, but all you crazy cobblestoners bought out all the cool colors at WEBS!
Posted by: Bea | September 04, 2007 at 05:45 AM
That looks great--everything about it is nice: the color, the yarn, and, of course, the modeling shot. I really love that design, and your work looks beautiful.
I'm really dying to knit that sweater, but DH refuses to wear pullovers (go figure). On the other hand, by time I finally finish his cardigan, I think it will be time to do more knitting for me.
I have a novice knitter friend who thinks there is no middle ground between the cheap acrylics sold by places like AC Moore and expensive wool yarns. I've given her a Knit Picks catalog to dispell this myth, but I'll also tell her about Cobblestone.

Handsome sweater. Handsome fella.

My goodness you're fast! I'm still on the second sleeve. Gorgeous, once again!
Posted by: Ruth | September 04, 2007 at 06:31 AM
Very nice - the sweater looks great, was it even faster knitting it the second time around? I am just amazed at how fast you churn things out! =)
Posted by: keri | September 04, 2007 at 06:31 AM
Looks fantastic. :D
Posted by: Sacha | September 04, 2007 at 07:06 AM
Wow, you knit two beautiful Cobblestones in the same amount of time as it took me to knit one sock. Amazing! This Cobblestone looks great, as does the first one. And your husband is hot. Put more pics of him on your blog OK?
Posted by: Linda | September 04, 2007 at 07:06 AM
Wonderful job. It looks great on him.
Posted by: isel | September 04, 2007 at 07:23 AM

And Matt is one handsome guy! Nice to see a full shot of him......
Blogless Diane

That sweater is the best...and you are one fast knitter! I'm just waiting for someone to come out with the "female" sized version. I want one for myself!
Posted by: Leslie | September 04, 2007 at 08:30 AM
Nice! I just love this sweater. Wish my hsuband wore sweaters!!
Posted by: rohanknitter | September 04, 2007 at 09:41 AM
Another very well done job! Tell me, if you were going to do it again, which yarn did you prefer the finished product in? My son would love one of these sweaters.
Posted by: Kim | September 04, 2007 at 10:20 AM
Tiennie!! It's amazing! AGAIN! Absolutely love the yarn. So you say you give it a 'good wet block' to take out the scratchiness? I working on mine for Hubby right now, and my yarn is rather scratchy as well. You are awesome!!
Posted by: Christina Marie | September 04, 2007 at 10:57 AM
You did such a great job on both these sweaters. Matt looks pleased, but more importantly, he looks comfy. :-)
I just finished the CPH in Skye Tweed, too, and I think the same thing...scratchy to work with, lovely final product. Too bad it's discontinued. Boo.
Posted by: Sway | September 04, 2007 at 10:58 AM
Wow, again, just wonderful work, and soo fast! I can't believe you've knit up two of these, you're shaming us all. :)
And is there some wonderful sweater on the horizon for yourself this fall?
Posted by: aquaknits | September 04, 2007 at 12:03 PM
What, no socks? ;-) Fantastic sweater. Hubby is a lucky man!
Posted by: Jeanne B. | September 04, 2007 at 12:31 PM
WOW! Your hubby is one lucky guy and you are one incredibly talented and fast knitter. I love both of the Cobblestone's, but which yarn did you like best?
Posted by: ~Kristie | September 04, 2007 at 12:58 PM
i'm glad to hear that the skye tweed softens up. my hubby didn't like how scratchy is was and requested that i use a different yarn...we'll see.
this second cobblestone is as lovely as the first, too!
Posted by: rachel i | September 04, 2007 at 01:10 PM
Excellent, again! I wish my hubby wanted this because between you and Jared, I'm hooked on Cobblestone. :-)
Posted by: Stacee | September 04, 2007 at 01:34 PM
You are a knitting-force-of-nature!! It looks fantastic, and I totally agree about this being an excellent movie theatre project.
Posted by: Heather | September 04, 2007 at 01:34 PM
Fantastic sweater! I just bought yarn to make another one too! And someday I'll have to gauge it down for my little guys. It's just such a perfect knit!
Posted by: Peggy | September 04, 2007 at 02:07 PM
You must submit Matt for the Yarnival Hunk of the Month. I have a very chaste and totally appropriate-for-married-people crush on him!
