Let's celebrate Halloween with some fun!:
Hailey is modeling her Hallowig that she wanted for her costume - an evil fairy. 'Cause you know, it's all about the evil this or dead that or zombie this - nothing cute for this one:
This wig was knitted with Berroco Comfort on US #8 needles and knitted a little extra long. A whimsical knit - not something that I'm used to doing. At least it will keep her head warm since it usually rains on Halloween here:
Let's celebrate the last of Socktoberfest with some socks!:
If the girls get matching socks, the boys have to have some too. Caelan modeling his:
Jaedan modeling his:
I love that I can get 2 pairs of socks (a little big too) out of one skein of Cherry Tree Hill Supersock knitted with US #2 needles. The pattern is a generic toe-up one that you can find on Wendyknits. The color, Cabin Fever, is perfect for fall:
Let's celebrate my knittiversary and my 4000th comment with some sock yarn! Yep, I've been knitting for 2 years now this month - actually this day. Also, I'm going to get my 4000th comment with this post - yippee! It's been far too long since I've given away any sock yarn. Be the 4000th commenter and also a random commenter and I will send you some yarny goodness. Don't forget to tell me what color you'd like. I just want to give thanks to you all for visiting my blog and leaving me nice comments. I always appreciate it! Happy Halloween!

I love the evil fairy costume! Perfect for the Hallowig. Great socks too - it is a perfect color yarn for fall. Wow, you've only been knitting for 2 years? You do a great job.

I didn't know there were evil fairies, but this one sure has a nice hair doo. And another pair of socks. Can't let the boys get cold feet, right? Nice work. Wow, and look at all those comments. Imagine that.

Posted by: Jen | October 31, 2007 at 03:36 AM
Again with the cute socks! And the cute costume (or should I say evil? I wouldn't want to upset your daughter by saying cute when she was going for evil!)
And, thanks for turning me on to the Wendy Knits toe up heel. I finally tried it, and loved it!

The Hallowig is perfect! Happy Halloween. This is the first year since I've had kids that I haven't made any costumes. Kind of sad, my kids are growing up too fast.
Happy Knitty Anniversary!

I love your blog. I don't usually comment because you get so many. Wow!!! But you are such a fast and talented knitter and I love seeing the things that you make
Posted by: Chris | October 31, 2007 at 05:30 AM
two years of knitting and what a lot of things you have achieved tiennie. it is great. and knitting and daydreaming is how we like it, isn't it.
the socks are cute and so is the halloween costume. much better than the little guys i met on sunday who wanted treats but didn't dress up and was carrying a plastic bag around for collecting treats. i suppose it is because halloween doesn't mean anything here as we only started to approach the tradition a few years ago.
Posted by: merete | October 31, 2007 at 05:33 AM
happy halloween to you, too!!!
The wig is adorable as are the socks... and you've only been knitting for 2 years?! Wow.

Your daughter's costume is very cool! I love the boys' socks too! Wow you are an amazing knitter for just two years of experience. I always marvel at your work! And 4000 Comments! Congrats!

What a cute little costume, I just love the matching fairy wig.
Posted by: keri | October 31, 2007 at 06:41 AM
Fantastic socks! You are so prolific. And I love that you knitted your daughter's wig. My children think that since I knit, I should be able to sew. (Or at least that I ought to be able to whip up their costumes with no problem -- you should hear me (unsuccessfully) trying to wheedle them into storebought costumes!)
Happy Knittiversary!!!
Posted by: Hilary | October 31, 2007 at 06:43 AM
What a great costume. I love the wings!!! As always, very cute tootsies!
Posted by: kim | October 31, 2007 at 06:55 AM
Now that's an awesome costume! Woo Hoo - a knittiversary AND nearing 4000 comments - that's awesome. Hey - why don't I throw in another "awesome" regarding the socks - cause they are. I like those Cherry Tree Hill folks.
Hope you and the kiddelies get some good spooking and trick-or-treating done tonight!

Congrats on your 4000th comment! I don't think I'd ever get to that point.

Happy Knitaversary!
CTH is wonderful though I'm on the fence about their new sock yarn. The colors are great but the feel isn't as soft.

I love reading your blog, so happy knitting and I look forward to seeing what you come up with next! and if you should happen to pull my name for some yarny goodness, I love earthy dirty colors (any color - pink, green, rust, teal - earthy dirty!) Just you know, in case there are options. :-)
