firestarters and lotsa winners

So sorry to have been absent for awhile from my blog and yours!  You know how it goes - family, holidays, my anniversary, skiing, eating, shopping, eating, wrapping, eating, cooking, eating, and I may have been sucked into all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls - how did I never know how awesome this show was?  I've been knitting, just a bit, but I haven't finished anything in awhile.  I did finish these socks weeks and weeks ago and am now getting around to sharing them.  These are Firestarters by Yarnissima:

Firestarter2

These were knit with Yarn Nerd 900 mHz yarn, in Punkin Head, which was gifted to me by the very cool Adam Knits:

Firestarter1

I used US #2 needles to knit these pretty babies:

Firestarter3

It's been awhile since I've completed a project for a KAL but I can check these off for the Firestarter KAL:

Firestarter4

I just love the cables and the way the gussets were designed on these socks:

Firestarter6

Thanks so much Adam for such great yarn to knit with!

Also, thanks again to Susan for the wonderful Knitter's Advent calendar gift.  I've had a lot of fun opening packages everyday and seeing all the different yarn you've sent!  I'm just amazed.  Thanks, and thanks and thanks!

Now, onto the winners.  Wow do you guys ever want free yarn!  I received such a huge response to this giveaway that I couldn't pick just 10 winners.  I decided to up the winners from 10 to 25.  Congrats to all 25 winners!:

If you're one of the winners and you haven't yet sent me your address yet, please e-mail me so I can send you some yarn.  Thanks so much for playing along - I'm overwhelmed by all the lovely comments!

Guess what?  If you didn't win this time, you can still win some yarn.  All your comments have pushed my comments total up and I'm about to get my 5000th comment.  Leave a comment and if it is you, I will send you some yarn too.  I will pick a random commenter to win also!  Happy New Year!

Hi there,
Thanks for drawing my name and adding more names to the drawing. I sent you an email with my address but i think i forgot to add that i live in the UK. Sorry about that. Sitting eating dinner and all of a sudden i have this thought....as you do.

Beautiful socks, happy anniversary, and aren't you the sweetest for sharing the yarn love... You even make not winning perfectly lovely.

I also love Gilmore Girls -- snappiest dialogue ever. I thought it got not so great toward the end, but those first few seasons were so fun to watch while knitting!

Happy holidays!

Great socks! I love the orange. Gilmore girls is totally my favorite show. I really miss it!

Did you get that wonderful set in what looks like, to my vintage eyes, an old Barbie doll case? I too recently discovered Gilmore Girls on DVD from the library -- now if someone would only return the second disk from the second season!

Great socks!

GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS SOCKS!!! i am heavily into that color!

and the gilmore girls - awesome! i was seriously coveting the entire series on DVD, but couldn't pull it off for a holiday gift.

LOVE those socks!!!

Aren't the firestarters great!?!

Those are amazing socks--I really like that pattern!

Aaahhh--Gilmore Girls. I got sucked into that a few years ago and am currently re-watching them with my husband who loves the show as much as I do. Smart comedy and you don't find that much nowadays. Enjoy!

The socks are gorgeous!! Love that pattern.

Yet another pair of awesome socks. Hope you had a great holiday/anniversary!

Happy New Year and anniversary, and congratulations to the winners!

Wow 5000, Congratulations! I love reading your blog. I absolutely love those Firestarters especially the color.

The socks look great! And congrats to all the lucky winners!

Your socks look great! (Wow, what a lot of winners!)

Your Firestarters are gorgeous. That's a perfect colour for them, and it's nice to see a yarn that can either stand on its own or handle a bit of patterning. Well done!

Well done to all the winners! Have a great new year Tiennie, I love the socks!

the firestarters look great and I love the color of the yarn nerd. Gilmore Girls was my fave show and I was terribly disappointed when they ended it so many awesome lines from that show!!

Beautiful socks and lovely yarn! Happy New Year to you!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your holidays! The firestarters are absolutely beautiful! Congratulations to all your winners! I love the generosity of knitters :)

Prettiest Firestarters I've seen! Perfect yarn!!

oh wow...I am so lucky! Well done you for pulling my name out of the hat! And another thank you for the link to that wonderful sock pattern, I just love the gusset, so different and neat!

Love the socks - another pattern to add to my Socks from The Stash Club list!(http://stashsockclub.blogspot.com/)

I thought I recognized that yarn. It looks great in the Firestarter pattern!

My goodness that's a lot of winners! Congrats, all.

And the firestarters look awesome! I think I might need to make a pair. Though I also think I might leave the ribbing down the instep too, rather than having that part be plain stockinette. (The sole can stay as is, though.)

Love the socks. I have a current thing for orange yarn.

Those socks are gorgeous! And Sarah Lou (skeins and beans) is one of my friends here in T-town. We knit together. How fun is that??

Happy New Year, Tiennie!

wow that is a crazy number of players and winners!! Love the orange socks!

Wow..such pretty socks...and I still haven't knit a pair. I am thinking I will try it out on the way to the UK. I'll be traveling over 16 hours...enough time to read a how to on sock knitting and get a good start!

Happy New Year...and Happy 5000th comment!

Lol on the gilmore girls! My daughter has been busy with her final season of CHarmed while her best friend and i have been drawn into all 6 seasons of Northern Exposure! So easy to get sucked in..i love that show!

Beautiful socks and yarn! Perfect combo.

congrats you lucky winners!

Gorgeous socks Tiennie. I love the pattern on them. Congrats to all the lucky winners too.

Wow, love those socks!! I love tiny cables! Anyone who knits with size 2 needles (or below) has my admiration. After my last pair with those size needles, it's gonna be a while ;) My next socks will be with size 3 *grin* Enjoy your weekend! :)

Woo hoo! You are sure giving us a great way to extend Christmas as long as possible. ;) Thanks for all of your thoughtful gifts and prizes that you send out.

These socks look fabulous!!! This colorway is so fun that it could probably work in just about any pattern, but this one does look especially great with the yarn. So pretty!

Wow - your firestarters are breathtaking - I need to get my second one done after seeing your fabulous pair! Job well done! And congrats to all of the winners!

Wow! I LOVE! :D A little variegation and you can still see everything. Almost like sherbert. Don't feel bad about the absence, I've been gone...a month and didn't really notice it until finals were over. For now, I have time during my precious winter break. :p

Those socks are so pretty--the cables just make them awesome. Great job!

Oh well - I'll try again. Happy 500th.

Love your socks and your generosity is amazing.

Those are gorgeous socks! And I'm so excited I won something!

Those are GREAT socks. That gusset is awesome.

*sigh* I miss Gilmore Girls. Every Tuesday night my DVR is so lonely now.

Lovely socks as always. I'm channeling you now for those twisted ribs I'm working on. I'm really pleased with them and remembered your little tutorial to me a couple months ago. Thanks so much!

Oh congrats to all the winners (wish it had been me :(
You do take beautiful pictures of your socks, and of course you knit beautifully too.
I'm up for another chance to win, so here's crossing my fingers.
Hope you have a Happy New Year. I did miss you posting, glad I stopped by today to see you :-)
Hugs Denise

Love the socks, and I'd love to be number 500!

I love the socks--what an interesting gusset! Great work on the gift giving, too. :-)

(Hi Karen in Toledo! *waves*) Karen and Sarah Lou are knitting buddies of mine, too! Small world. (Congrats Sarah!) Love, those, SOCKS! Especially the gusset--it's ingenious! I miss the Girls. I was sad to see it end. Thank you for sharing your abundance with us! Blessings and happy holidays!

Didn't win this time but maybe I'll be number 500!

The socks are great

Beautiful socks! I watch Gilmore Girls reruns all of the time on cable and it's so easy to get sucked in.

You are so incredibly generous, Tiennie! and talented too - I love the socks :)

The games over since I'm number 500 (maybe)

Congrats to all the winners - it's not sporting to feel jealous :-(

And I also love your socks
