I know a lot of you have been wondering how I can knit so fast and knit so many duplicate projects. I also know that some of you wonder why I never post a picture of myself. At first it was because I was shy and I was worried about letting my secret out but I think that we know each other well enough now that I can share this picture of me:
Bwahahahahaha! I crack myself up. Just kidding.
Here's some more matching projects - 'cause you know I don't do that enough. This is Capitan by Rosi Garmendia:
These were knitted on US #10.5 with Iceland Madil Wool (hey it's not Cascade 220!):
Here's my oldest:
And my youngest:
My favorite part of the hat - the star on the crown:
My favorite girls:
Notice the snow melting in the background at my house? It's not sticking around here, but, well, we haven't been able to go skiing because of TOO MUCH snow. Yep, there's been so much snow that the Pass has been closed and we couldn't get to the slopes. So that gave me plenty of time to knit 2 more hats for friends. Here's all 4 hats:
As Rosi says: "Si Capitan!"
Thanks for indulging me in my silliness. Something else that makes me laugh? This e-mail from a fellow blogger (who shall remain nameless):
"Thank you so much! I have to tell you something funny. I showed ___ how your husband had been selected as Hunk of the Month in his Cobblestone sweater, and he just sort of chuckled. But when I gave him HIS Cobblestone, he put it on and started singing a little made-up song:
Hunk of the month!
I'm cute as can be.
Hunk of the month!
Now it's gonna be me.
I nearly fell over from laughing. He absolutely forbade me from posting about the song, but gave the okay to share it with you and your hubby. :)"
Hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee!

Hm... eight hands less than I expected... ;)
Thanks for sharing the totally adorable hunk sweater story!
Well, and of course, great hats, Tiennie!

AHA! I knew there was a reason you could knit so much so quickly. Can I borrow a pair of those hands? (you're so silly) ;-)
Your girls are adorable in those hats. Of course you knit the pattern in multiples. I'm starting to see a recurring theme.

Fab hats! I think that you probably look like your daughters, not that other picture!!
I love the Hunk song!
Posted by: Lin | February 08, 2008 at 03:19 AM
You are a mess! LOL @ pic
But you must have multiple arms to get all the duplicate knitting crank out that you do!
Luv me some Rosi and her Capitan hat has been spreading like wildfire! I so wish she would have "sold" that pattern.
I kinda like the anonmity you intend on your blog with you and the kids! All except you Hunky Hubby! :oD But we like that!!! Haha!

More great projects, I knew you had to have had extra hands, just had no idea how many!:)
Posted by: stacey | February 08, 2008 at 06:06 AM
Cute hats! They look like a quick knit. I just finished a Meatheat Had for my son, and it took me under an hour to knit that I want to know like 10 more!

Absolutely the CUTEST!!
Posted by: margene | February 08, 2008 at 07:18 AM
I love opening up your blog to see what you have created....it's always so nice! You ARE a fast knitter! Please do not tell me you also have a full time job....I swear grrl, I don't know how you do it!
Posted by: Kim | February 08, 2008 at 07:20 AM
Sooo adorable! Love the hat pattern you chose! I just got some Malabrigo from a swap and I am itching to knit a hat. Just need to pick a good pattern. This one is very cute. The brims don't block your eyes, though, do they?
Posted by: Diana | February 08, 2008 at 07:20 AM
The hats are so very cute! I think the band on top with the buttons finishes it beautifully. Your girls are bee-utiful!
Posted by: mary | February 08, 2008 at 07:59 AM
Those hats are so cool, I might need to cast on for one myself! :0)
Posted by: Charity | February 08, 2008 at 08:01 AM
Your daughters are too cute in their matching hats. Sorry to hear the pass was closed... I grew up in CO where that happened quite a lot, so I completely understand!
Posted by: Stacee | February 08, 2008 at 08:11 AM
Those are the coolest hats ever! I need to make one for myself :P Your little girls are so cute, they have the biggest smiles, of course I would too if you were my mom ;) Your picture cracked me up! I was wondering how you get so much done, and now I know!
Posted by: bea | February 08, 2008 at 08:15 AM
The hats are just right for your girls. Do you have to add some stiffener to get the brims to stick out.
Posted by: Cindy D | February 08, 2008 at 08:41 AM
That is just too too cute. They are just the coolest looking hats and the girls obviously love them.
Posted by: MrPuffy | February 08, 2008 at 09:19 AM
You are a riot!! LOL! That explains all your fast knitting alright! ;) Great job on the hats!
Posted by: Zonda | February 08, 2008 at 10:05 AM

Tiennie that is too funny! Now your secret is out...
Love the Capitan hats. You're right the star on top is fantastic. Your daughters are beautiful. :-)

Those caps are so cute! I just love them. I also love the picture of you. Now it all makes sense. ;-)
Posted by: Opal | February 08, 2008 at 12:20 PM
If I had such adorable kids, I'd knit lots of the same items too. The caps are great, and the pictures are even better.
And I love that song. DH is really fond of making up songs and poems, but so far nothing about my knitting. I think I might just keep this to myself.
Posted by: marjorie | February 08, 2008 at 02:00 PM
This post cracked me up! That "self-portrait" is hilarious! And the Hunk of the Month is funny, too...
Your knitting ability amazes me. I LOVE those hats! I'm going to look at that pattern...
Posted by: AMBER | February 08, 2008 at 02:04 PM
Well you certainly could knit faster with that many arms. I love the hats, so cute and your girls are adorable too.
Posted by: sue | February 08, 2008 at 02:11 PM

Love the Capitan! I was just talking about a cap like this to a friend and I am so glad to find a pattern. Too cute!
Posted by: Petra | February 08, 2008 at 04:40 PM
You are amazing! and those hats are adorable on your girls. Makes me want to try and do at least one, but I don't have a size 10 circular or dpn's so I'd have to go buy some first. I did buy the Knitpicks option needles but thought it strange that they didn't include a 16" circular! I would have been all set to go if they had.
Loved the story of the 'other hubby hunk' :-)
Have a great weekend.
Posted by: Denise | February 08, 2008 at 05:27 PM
Now your secret is out - I thought you had a knitting machine sitting at home - hahaha! Those hats look great on your pretty girls & once again you outknit all of us. I do wish I can knit much faster but it's so difficult to find more knitting time.
Posted by: Ann | February 08, 2008 at 05:28 PM

And oh my goodness, your lil' ladies are super cute. :)
