What more can I say about this sweater that thousands haven't already said?:
It is such a sweet little baby sweater to knit that I can see why grown-ups want a lovely version for themselves:
Attempting an Elizabeth Zimmermann project, makes me feel like a real Knitter. Since she only gives "recipes", it always takes some calculations to figure out the pattern:
I knitted these on US #6 needles using Cascade 220 Superwash in white. It's not the softest of yarns but it's superwash - because no parents of newborns want to deal with fussy handwash clothing.:
This is also a fantastic and fast project. My neighbor recently had a little girl so I had an excuse to make this sweater. My only modification was to add buttons to the yoke only, instead of down the entire sweater.:
I wish I had known how to knit when my kiddos were babies. I guess I'll just have to wait for my siblings to have babies so I can have more reasons to make adorable baby knits.:
I only have one sweater in this post because I have been spending all my time on a new website that I have been loving - Shelfari! It's like Ravelry but for book readers. I signed up last summer for an account but promptly forgot about it until our book club leader had us join so we can post on the books we've read. So I've rejoined and have been having fun remembering all the great books that I've read over the years. If you have an account there, friend me so that we can enjoy our reads together!

What a sweet garment!!! Any baby would look extra cute wearing that! :)

Lovely!!! That sweater's been on my list forever; just waiting for someone to have a baby girl, already!

Something about doing a baby knit in white that makes it so pure! Great mod re: the buttons. Now to finish up my EZ knit....le sigh ;op

I have to say that I've seen that sweater many times before but I have NEVER liked it so well as I do now seeing it in plain white.
May it be received by the mommy with much joy and love :)

It really is one of the sweetest baby sweaters! The pure white is a perfect balance too!! Great job!
Okay, but to be honest, I was almost expecting a parade of little baby sweaters (you are a knitting rockstar you know!).

Sweet! My first February Baby sweater was white, maybe 10 years ago? Most recent was very girly pink! Great sweater, and your pictures are beautiful, too.

It looks gorgeous in white. I dont see why you cant knit both your girls smaller lady versions for them as they would look wonderful. Perhaps you can knit yourself one too.

Oooooooh Aaaaaaaah. so so pretty. you take such lovely pictures of your knitting.
ps. I have two sisters that are prego. If all goes well we may have THREE babies by next Christmas. I may be knitting up these sweaters in mass.

I think yours is the first white version I've seen! It shows the lace detail really well! Great job!

What a pretty little sweater that is for some special little girl, and I really like it in white.
Shelfari? Uh-oh, that sounds like a bad idea for me, so I think I won't be joining that. I spend too much time in Ravelry as it is, and after reorganizing all my books last weekend, I think the last think I need is someone to tempt me to get more books.

It's very sweet! I'll have to check Shelfari out!

This looks so great in white! I love babies in white, even if it isn't always the most practical choice. I wasn't a knitter when my kids were babies, either, but I enjoy knitting for other family members who are having babies!

Very nice - and the color looks so good in this season - very springy.

Very lovely in white. I love knitting for babies. They are just tiny and sweet. Look at you go with your books too? Is there anything you don't have time for girl?

Tiennie, you are amazing! Love the sweater! I don't dare attempt anything by Elizabeth Zimmerman! She's waaaay too intimidating. You did a perfect job ;).

The white is so classic, love it. And next time I make this sweater I will definitely do the buttons on the yoke only, such a sweet touch:)
