What kind of lame blogger starts a contest but forgets to pick winners? Oh, I guess that would be me (hangs head in shame.) Thank you for being so patient! I'm finally getting around to responding to your comments and have randomly picked winners. The winners are:
The Knitting in the Sun book goes to: Rosi!
The Weekend Sewing book goes to: Martha!
The Sock Innovation book goes to: Kaet!
A lot of your comments made me crack up so I randomly picked a just-for-fun commenter, and winner of sock yarn, and that goes to: Bertha!
Thank you so much for all the fun comments! You guys have great secrets.
I mentioned in my last post that my sister was getting married. It was a really gorgeous wedding and day. I had never seen a traditional Vietnamese wedding before and my sister did it all up for the whole family and for all the kids to see. There were so many women, and a few men, dressed in colorful traditional clothing. I have some miniature pics to share. Here are my sister, her new husband and my daughter, who was so excited to be flower girl:
The bridal party wore the traditional clothing for the wedding and changed into tuxes and wedding gown/bridesmaid dresses for the reception and they changed back and they changed again. I think my sister wore 3 different outfits, throughout the day/evening, that she kept rotating - very exhausting! Here are my kids in their tuxes and traditional ao dais:

The boys could have worn ao dais too but I didn't think that they would tolerate having to change twice - especially in the heat of that day. Here are my daughters and my niece in their beautiful ao dais:

Beautiful pictures! Congratulations to your sister. How fun that she did a traditional Vietnamese wedding. What a great idea.

Beautiful photos! Congratulations to your sister and her new husband! I had heard that Indian weddings also involve a few different changes of clothing - I have a friend who is a makeup artist and she attended the entire day for an Indian client of hers to redo her makeup mid day with the second outfit.

Your girls look so gorgeous in their dresses. It must have been a good experience for your children. I brought my girls back to Singapore for Chinese New Year early this year for the same purpose & they enjoyed all the celebrations.
